As usual at the monthly meeting of the BFCC (Bicycle Friendly Community Committee) a report of the state of the city’s bike projects was given by John Honeywell.  Mayor Stodola also took the time to speak about the Close the Loop initiative.

Lighting Project on the Junction and the Clinton Bridges

The lighting projects on both bridges have been completed and will be officially illuminated in December.  However, Entergy has released this video of the testing of the lights.  These lighted bridges will be a wonderful addition to the nighttime skyline of downtown Little Rock and will accent the progress that has been made towards making Little Rock a more bikeable and walkable city.

Two Rivers Park Trail Closure

The Two Rivers Park Bridge and surrounding trail loop will be closed effective Tomorrow (Monday, September 16,2013) and should reopen by the end of the day Wednesday.

 

The trail closure is due to the repaving of the loop section of the trail immediately after the Two Rivers Park Bridge.  The trail that has been damaged due to tree roots will be ground down and then paved over.  There is no option to leave half open…
